Apostle Willie B. Cunningham

Biography

Apostle Willie B. Cunningham is the only son of Mrs. Jeanette L. Cunningham and the late Willie B. Cunningham. He was born, raised and educated in the Gaston County school system in Gastonia, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology.

Apostle Cunningham was called to preach in January of 1977. On June 12, 1977 he preached his initial sermon at the Friendship Baptist Church in Gastonia. While a high school student, he enrolled in the Southern Theological Seminar Extension Course, receiving several certificates. After graduating from college and accepting a job with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, Rev. Cunningham moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. Seeing the need to continue to prepare for the ministry, he enrolled at Shaw Divinity School. In the Summer of 1986, Apostle Cunningham was blessed to obtain a job with the Experimental Pathology Laboratories located in the Research Triangle Park where he has been employed for the past 13 years. He is presently employed at Pathology Associates as a Histologist in the Research Triangle Park.

He has been blessed with three beautiful daughters, Ebonie Lashaun, Gabrielle Shaina and Christian Nicole.

He pastored the Rose of Sharon Church in China Grove, North Carolina for three years and at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church for 10 years. In 1997, he founded the New Generation Fellowship Church, starting with 47 members in the living room of his home the first Sunday. The second Sunday, 75 members met at the Worthdale Community Center. In August of 1998, the New Generation Fellowship Church family purchased 2.5 acres with a Church already on the property at 910 West Stallings Street in Clayton, North Carolina. On the second Sunday in September the first service was held. Since that time multitudes of blessings have crossed our pathway and we continue to Praise God with our motto: "Look What The Lord Has Done."
